Marty Reno bought his first guitar at nine, igniting a lifelong music career. Born in Montreal and raised on Prince Edward Island, he started performing live in 1958, focusing on classic country music.
Rising to Fame...
Marty’s career spanned television, radio, and stage, with appearances on The Nashville Network, The Tommy Hunter Show, and The Ian Tyson Show. He was the bandleader on The Rocky Mountain Inn and collaborated with Gene MacLellan, releasing “Gene and Marty” in 1976.
A Life of Travel and Performance...
Marty’s career took him across Canada, the US, Europe, and the Caribbean. Living on his sailboat “Sarah Jane Riley,” he performed at various Caribbean venues. In Canada, he starred in the play “Hank Williams – The Show He Never Gave,” earning standing ovations.
Current Ventures and Family Life...
Marty has recently made Connecticut his home after getting married to his wife, Betsy, A Connecticut native. He has five musically inclined children and numerous grandchildren. His repertoire spans from classic country to contemporary folk, along with an extensive catalog of original songs.
